    Extremely Relevent

Beowulf is a classic in every sense of the word. There are few epics extant that cross so many mythological belief systems as Beowulf. Whether it be Celtic, Germanic, Danish, Scandinavian, etc, it can be tied to Beowulf. Highly recommended for Icelandic studies, and anything involving pre-14th century Western Europe (to some degree thereafter as well) - know your Beowulf, even if it's just to pick up those cute girls in your graduate level Epics class... it'd be nice to think there's people out there who just enjoy great epic tale-weaving though.
