    the turn of the screw

Studying 'The Turn of the Screw' for my Cultural Studies degree has not been the most riveting thing I have ever had to do but you have to respect Henry James for his work and his contribution to Modernism. It is a really clever piece of work and if you have a good imagination you can get quite scared because the atmosphere is so dark and evil. I do think though that the Governess was crazy and she imagined Quint and Miss Jessel! Very creative, but better to watch the adaptations that read it.

This is true maybe i do have an over active imgination, but personally i was rather disturbed with the first appearance of the ghost. Interestingly do you not think they could be a internal-projection to increase the interest in her life, after all she has basically been removed into a very secular situation must be incredibly lonely. Certianly it could have turned her slightly deranged, but i dunno I really enjoyed it once you got used to James' style.
    What do you think?
