we will swing about the waves again

So, we are now gained back for our cause.
and we will swing about the waves again
    clutched tight at each other
in our best bathing trunk and suit
    till another sinister famished shark
tear our dance to injury, or to death,
    to pieces innumerable
of multiplied pain, black sorrow, taut anger and disillusion,
to shreds scraped with its toothlike scales
    from our timber raft.
Remnants, undigested, of bones of our love -
once the waves appeased - floating all over the bay,
we will come from the dead and do our best to pretend,
    as for the first time,
that life is about communion which wisdom builds and evens,
But in conclusion, that we will so dread to pronounce,
    But what in conclusion?

"But what in conclusion?" indeed! This opens with such a rage of energy that never let up. It's marvelous.

Thanks a lot. This "rage of energy" let up once the lines used it all... and you are so sensitive a reader! (or was it THAT obvious?)

a tumultuous romance... resurrected to pretend, is an interesting notion. seems like the waves come between the embrace.
