    Bristlecone

    This pine is willful
    It will not grow
    Tucked in a crevice
    Centuries ago

    Battered by winds
    And crushed by snow
    It does not know
    What pines should know

    It does not reach
    For dizzy heights
    But hugs the earth
    To pass its nights

    That was adorably tragic.

Forgive me: but I think you mean "crevice" or "crevasse" and the possessive is "its" (no apostrophe.)
