I saw a clown,
and the moon was his belly.
He wore a wild smile,
but his stride was so long
his belly couldn't keep up,
so it was left behind.
His head wisped and spread
east east east
as his feet stepped west.
It's a regular circus
around here.
I saw a clown,
and the moon was his belly.
He wore a wild smile,
but his stride was so long
his belly couldn't keep up,
so it was left behind.
His head wisped and spread
east east east
as his feet stepped west.
It's a regular circus
around here.

Dear Mr.Dan Bierce,
The image of the cloud that dispersed having the moon as its belly was astonishing.I always thought the moon induces to an image rich in soft hues. Here is one from me about a rain in the making. You are free to comment.
A Rain In The Making.
A Rain is in the making,
The clouds are the ingredient darkened
Like Caramel sugar.
Add a wind strong and wild and you have,
A Rain in the kitchen of this world.
Passers by are weary and wards the rain,
With an umbrella held aloft,
Or with a rain coat on.
But the rain will be made the sky decides and patter, patter,
The droplets fall.
You have quite a set of skills, DB. This reminds me of Charles Simic's poetry, particularly one called Country Fair.
Simic can stretch the world into amazing and arresting shapes and arrangements as does your poem.
Very amusing little piece, Dan. Keep up the good work
Some of us laugh
Some of us cry
Some of us smoke
Some of us lie
But it's all just the way
that we cope with our lives...
Thanks, guys. Enjoyed your poem, V. Jaya.
