    Reading Poetry

    Reading Poetry

Please don't be embarrassed that I am sitting here, naked,
    reading your poem, for actually,
I have my blanket pulled around me,
    so soft and plush,
that when I read the words that expose you,
I offer you a place beside me.

I'm in love with The Vinegar Man and Mr. Tanner, but be careful, it could just as easily be you.

Fantastic! It's brief, and your language is so straight forward that it really makes a statement. A statement which I believe encapsulates the spirit of poetry!

    I, on the other hand,
    as usual am wearing
    my long, black thermal underwear
so everything about me is covered
but for my heart, open to you...

Cute. Wait, let me strip so I can read your poem naked.

Aw that's nice. Exposing yourself so the poet is less self conscious! Very nice!

Edit: I wanted to add that your poem touched me the same way I admire someone who shaves his/her head in empathy and support of a friend or family member going through chemotherapy. I think writing is just that personal and emotional and experience. Those willing to expose their vulnerable underbellies especially deserve a soft place to fall. I really love the sensitivity in this one amp!

The intimacy and vulnerability of this poem is its beauty. A testament to poetry and its readers and makers.

    Hummm... Beautifully erotic
    Some of us laugh
    Some of us cry
    Some of us smoke
    Some of us lie
But it's all just the way
that we cope with our lives...

    Ampoule is back

Gorgeous poem, very pure and very naughty at the same time. I love it.
