Doesn't surprise me. That's why I'm grateful for direction from modern day prophets. From The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Articles of Faith:

8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

In my humble opinion, the above statement goes for any version of the Bible; and until further notice from my church authorities the King James Version of the Bible will be what I use to study in addition to our Latter Day scriptures.

Others may disagree and I respect their views.

In stage one, the translation could focus on word improvement and thereby be described as a "conservative word-for-word" translation. If greater freedom in interpretation is then desired, then a "conservative thought-for-thought" version could be generated as a second stage.

Is this a corruption of the original, perhaps promoted by liberals without regard to its authenticity? This does not appear in any other Gospel, and the simple fact is that some of the persecutors of Jesus did know what they were doing. This quotation is a favorite of liberals, although it does not appear in the earliest and best manuscripts of the Gospel of Luke. It should not appear in a conservative Bible, because in point of fact Jesus might never had said it at all.

My personal favorite

Socialistic terminology permeates English translations of the Bible, without justification. This improperly encourages the "social justice" movement among Christians.

For example, the conservative word "volunteer" is mentioned only once in the ESV, yet the socialistic word "comrade" is used three times, "laborer(s)" is used 13 times, "labored" 15 times, and "fellow" (as in "fellow worker") is used 55 times.

You see, the conservatives have infultrated the liberals secret language. Words such as 'government', 'welfare' or 'equality' actually have a hidden communist message behind them such as 'Hiel Hitler' or 'Il duce Mussolini

Well, the thing that makes this article so funny is that; there is no liberal bias in either of the Testaments because they were written over 2,000 frickin years ago! Liberalism as it is today was vastly different even three-hundred years ago. There may be 'liberal' aspects in it, but not vivid enough to call it 'liberal', much less say that it has a 'liberal bias' (I still can't help it but burst out laughing )

I just love how some (not all) conservatives see a liberal conspiracy in everything, even the Bible (a text that most Republicans supposidly cherish).
