I'm working with the "Digital Whitman" Project at the University of Mary Washington, and I'm doing work on Whitman's modern impact on a global scale. Would any of you mind helping me out and giving me some kind of description of what Whitman is to you and why? For example, is he a barbaric, nationalist figure, or maybe more of a womanly one? If you could also include where you're from, you would be my hero.
