the annoying commercials where they try to sell stuff work great to put you to sleep too. Especialy the towel ones...

Watch Apocalypse Now or Seven Samurai after 3AM, you'll fall asleep faster than you think.

But yes, I'm quite a bit of an insomniac.

I spend my non-sleeping hours writing my novels, stories, and (as of recently) poems.

I have terrible insomnia. Haven't gotten it resolved yet. I strongly urge you to stay away from sleeping pills. usually what I do is don't go to sleep at all, walk through the next day in an absolute haze and then pass out at about 6 pm and wake up the next day feeling semi normal. And then I'm okay for a while and then I have another sleepless night. Tonight, I'm having trouble getting to sleep so here I am on Lit Net with nothing to contribute. They say regular exercise and a routine are good for sleeping issues. Like, pick a time to wake up everyday and actually get out of bed at that time no matter how much you don't want to. And then, eventually, you will start going to bed at a reasonable hour and waking up at a reasonable hour. I can't seem to stick with it long enough myself though. And caffeine...caffeine is bad. I think it's our culture. We're all saturated with caffeine and information and incessantly flashing computer monitors. Oh, and I bought some relaxation track off itunes. It's the sound of rain and thunderstorms with theta sound waves or something too...supposed to promote relaxation. I think it works. I put it on my ipod dock and sat in the tub the other day and it was like heaven. I think I'll go get that and see if I can't fall asleep. 'Night!

hahahahaha Antonioni does it best. The "red desert" is a good choice

I happen to like antonioni by the way but i admit that he is slow.

I can confirm that Regular exercise has helped me a lot. That and reading a couple of hours before going to sleep.

I really don't have any other time to write, so I might as well.

Coffee is really doing its wrong deeds on me, but I like it so badly that I can't quit. However I used to experience the benefits of relaxing night exercise, like doing some yoga poses before going to bed. I should revisit such habit, though the problem is that nights are the time of day when I can be the most on Lit Net, so what should I do? Go practice yoga, then to bed, or stay here instead? WHAT A CONUNDRUM!
I also agree with having a schedule for going to bed and waking up, though it requires a good amount of discipline that I don't seem to have

I hardly ever watch something slow. It wouldn't make me want to sleep. It makes me just... want to cut my wrists wide open ....
