After reading this novel, I found it interesting that this novel parallels the movie Clueless. It was brought to my attention by my World Lit professor when we were talking about The Odyssey and O Brother, Where Art Thou? The whole issue of repeating storylines over the years is interesting. As a high school english teacher, these parallels are fun to draw and interest the students because it can be adapted to personal experience they can draw from themselves.
