I'm certainly not unhappy to see it here I've read it before, and it does involve ghosts. I don't know if I really consider it horror, but I did read it for a Gothic lit class. It is dark in some ways but not in a similar fashion of Lovecraft or even Stephen King. All in all, it is a great book, and if it isn't picked here it is worth starting another little group to read it.

Frankenstein is an excellent book but I am not sure I would like to read it again just now...

Just a short comment. I hope the book "The Beloved" is a lot better than the movie. I personally hated the movie, which stars Oprah. I watched it specifically to see the farm where my ex-boyfriend had his Civil War re-enactments. Oddly enough, I didn't recognise anything. Perhaps one scene was an area I did sort of know. I like the movie up to a point; then I began to moan at how ridiculous I thought it all got to be. Like I said, I hope the novel is a lot better and makes more sense. I didn't exactly see it as a ghost story but I guess it is. I saw it more as a drama about a family.

And Jozanny, we would never poke your eye out; honestly. You have enough grief, without having a swollen black eye! By the way, I heard something negative about your library on the TV the other night. I didn't catch it all but seemed it was to be shut down for a time. Sorry about that.

IMO, if I may make some very general comments, the book is better than the movie, and I did not see Oprah in Sadie. However, Beloved caused me to cease reading Morrison, but for now I'll leave it there; it's complicated.

Statehouse gamesmanship is over in this end of the tri-state; the main branch and most of the others are staying open for now, which is why I voted, and hey, at least I have some online friends here at LitNet, and maybe that is worth a little story project at some point... mmm. A wheelchair possessed by ghosts maybe?
