    Any creepy swamp tales?

Ive had a craving for a while for stories out creepy swamps. Something like a tale out of an eerie place like Point Lookout (prison camp), Maryland. Dismal and disturbing with a mysterious background would be perfect. Actually any novels with sections containing swamp adventures would be greatly apprieciated as well. Strange locals with sinister history... please help me to satisfy my craving! THANKS!

PS. maybe something with a Joseph Conrad feel to it, you know meloncholy and all that.

If your familiar with the Fallout 3 expansion pack Point Lookout you'll know what i'm referring to.

Civil war era would be great as well.

    Hi,
I actually remember one novel by Anne Rice called Blackwood Farm that is pretty much set into swamps.... give it a go.

It maybe too obvious, but have you read Alan Moore's run on the Swamp Thing (1980s). It's full of swampy goodness.
