    Hello guys !
well.... i dont think my personality is such as to require a high flown introduction. So, here is a brief one. I love literature and like to read books, specially novels. Besides reading, I listen to music, watch movies and sometimes i draw too. Thats all !

    Hello Miss Everdene,

Welcome to te Lit Net forum. I'm sure you will find your visits interesting and informative. The great thing about the site is that it caters for intelligent readers regardless of their individual tastes. It would be nice to know which country or location you are from which helps to avoid misunderstandings when engaged in the general as opposed to the literary part of the forum.
    Anyway, enjoy.

    Hello folks,

Greece here. It gets rather gloomy in Athens in September, even if the whole nation refuses to accept that summer is finally over and insists on walking around looking at the sky and smiling. You seen that movie, Shawn of the Dead? Remember the opening scene where Londoners walk around looking like zombies, even if they haven't become ones yet? That's Athens. Only, in Edgar Wright's cult creation Londoners don't smile. We smile. Constantly. Irritating, stupid bunch of idiotically smiling zombies.

    Maybe it's the olive oil.

    I enjoy grumbling.

I also enjoy football, cooking, and surfing the net for porn. I often go to a bar called "Jazz in Jazz" whose owner and bartender is in love with an Argentinian dancer and wants to move to ****in Buenos Ayres. I like good whiskeys, but unfortunately I can only afford mediocre ones.

I'm thankful for the last six months, in which I've been with someone who might very well turn out to be the love of my life. It's a woman. Sorry, if I hadn't specified that my whole post would make me look incredibly gay. Which I'm not. Not that I've got something against gays, it's just that I'm not. If I were I would make sure I have the best time possible, but I'm just not. Alright?

Although my friend Dimitri is indeed gay. Married, but gay. I don't see much of him unfortunately, but I do see quite a bit of three guys I've been close friends with since primary school. My friends are a very important part of my life. We all sit there and drink scotch and smoke and wonder whether Dimitri's wife knows what a faggot her husband is.

I think that's it. I've covered everything about myself and run out of conversation.

This is a great forum to discover, and I'm very glad I'm here. I'm looking forward to contributing.

    Best regards,
    DocHeart

Hello everyone. It's good I'm following Miss Everdene, since we're studying Far From the Madding Crowd at school, and I live in Pakistan.

    Hello from Alaska!

Well, you know where I live, now. I was born here and have no plans to live anywhere else, although I have traveled a bit. I, like Virgil, am probably older than anyone here...I'll be 50 next summer, and finally at a place in my life where I can pursue a life dream: Teaching Literature and Language Arts! Which is really not so much about me being the teacher as it is a way that I can continue to learn.

I had a tough time thinking of a favorite book. Last year, I presented a paper on the role of the artist in Kerouac and Nietzsche. Yikes! I really enjoyed reading Dharma Bums and plan to read On the Road if I survive this semester of MAT. Right now I have a stack of textbooks jealously staring me down, so I had better sign off. This looks like a great forum!

    Thanks....

    Hi, I'm new here, too.

I'm a English/German student from Germany and I just love books! Reading and writing are two of my passions. And I'm kind of a weirdo, cause I think I'm one of the very few people who doesn't like Shakespeare

    Hi,
My name's Claire, and I stumbled across this site whilst surfing the net for information on T.S Eliot for a school project .
I like a wide variety of books, things ranging from Alexandre Dumas through to Bret Easton-Ellis and Alex Flinn. I have yet to find a book which will not satisfy me on at least one point (even, God forbid, Twilight -or are we not allowed to talk about that without breaching the rule which states no quibbling over current politics-), and hope never to do so.
My favourite authors are deffinately Cecilia Dart-Thornton (The Bitterbynde Series), Louis De Bernieres (Captain Corelli's Mandolin), Fyodor Dostoyevsky (Crime and Punishment etc.), Charles Dickens and T.H White (The Once and Future King), and I highly recommend these to all!!

Some things I really enjoy are reading (big shock), watching Christian bale movies, rock-climbing, tree climbing, horse riding, skiing, writing stories (which I hope may one day be completed and published), clothes shopping .... spending money is a big favourite of mine ...... especially on bale films.......

Anyways; I listen to Short Stack, Tom Felton, Taylor Swift, Huey Lewis and The News (sad, i know), All my favourite musicals (Little Women, Billy Eliot, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, The Little Mermaid.... the list goes on).

I love singing; and my friends and i think I have a brilliant voice, but i've never had an unbiased opinion, we feel the same way about my acting and writing skills ... i get the feeling that a big wake-up-call is waiting for me somewhere down the track, but I will continue to live, totally oblivious of the large possibility that is my inability to sing, act, and write.

That's it for my first post on this site .... hope to meet some other people with the same interests and likes as me!!
Check out my music blog! <http://lilac-skies.blogspot.com/>
