    Harriet Beecher Stowe was NOT black. THat is what makes her book so influential. If she would have been black, no one would have read the book!

    "ummm." you appear to be ignorant. she was a person with a heart and conscience, and she was clothed in white skin when she wrote that book. if that makes her "black" to your way of thinking, you need to reexamine your heart.

    No! Harriet Beacher Stowe was a white woman who learned about slavery from her visits to the south. = )
