It's nice when the judges give a standing ovation. After they weed out the weak stuff, those that make it to the Top 40 are usually mighty good.

Me too, no more singers..until I started rooting for Kevin Skinner (I think that's his name)

"But do you really, seriously, Major Scobie," Dr. Sykes asked, "believe in hell?"
    "Oh, yes, I do."
    "In flames and torment?"
"Perhaps not quite that. They tell us it may be a permanent sense of loss."
"That sort of hell wouldn't worry me," Fellowes said.
"Perhaps you've never lost anything of importance," Scobie said.

When I watched Nuttin' But Stringz's Top 40 performance, I was like "Wow!" I remember that Piers was the first judge who stood up and clapped, and Piers rarely gives standing ovations.

yeah, Piers is a tough customer. I'm so used to seeing him X'ing people off, so when he's in standing ovations I can't help but think, what's wrong with him LOL

^ yes! I couldn't believe it. It was just down to him and an opera singer. She has a beautiful voice and looks very polished from head to toe and can win easily, but Kevin's singing touches something deeper, and the audience was chanting his name. And get this, he's country, and I HATE country but I just love him!

^ I'll take your word for it

But what will it take for a non-singer to win?

^ I know what you're saying, singers are a dime a dozen these days, but Kevin is the only singer I hope would win. Think of it this way, even though a singer wins again, it could be worse. Do you really want ventriloquists and contortionists and mimes? Not that there's anything wrong with them, but still....
