The Ugly Truth- heh heh it was pretty funny. I love cheap movie nights with the bff.
I'm weary with right-angles, abbreviated daylight,
Waiting for a winter to be done.
Why do I still see you in every mirrored window,
In all that I could never overcome?

It is very bloody, but the violence is explored as a theme a bit like in Peckinpah's work. The film looks at racism in Australia, against the natives but also between the different people colonising the place, and at the violence that comes from there.

    this movie is so amazing.

Inglourious Basterds - No rating - Surprisingly really amazing. I can't really score this movie, except to say that it was brilliant. Completely changing the events of WWII in such a way is kind of marvelous, something you'll never ever see in another WWII flick. It begins and ends almost perfectly. I was completely surprised, as I was not impressed by the previews I had seen of this movie. Christopher Waltz is amazing in this.

    Inglorious Basterds:

There was so much that I enjoyed about the film. Tarantino writes such distinct characters, but they have the tendency to digress in the same manner. There was more diversity in this film compared to Kill Bill, where The Bride, Bill and Elle seemed to have attended the same speech class ( I always cringe when Elle reads from her notepad).

There is a very interesting tone to the film and the performances that have been praised are well deserved, but I have to watch it a second time to really grasp Pitt's performance.

    Inglourious Basterds - Q Tarantino

Could have been good but the focus on the terribly written french characters and some awful acting ruined it. I would have liked to see more of the "Basterds". Christoph Waltz was great in this though.

    Satantango - Bela Tarr

One of the greatest films ever made, a true work of art. Over seven hours long but every second of it is beautifully crafted and mesmerizing. It takes a while to get used to the perculiar rythm but once past that you're in for a treat. Everybody who sees cinema as a form of art should see this once in their life.

I'm so curious about Q.Tarantino's new movie, so I figured I should see the one he got some inspiration from. I enjoyed it a lot, a dark A-team movie... with quite an anti-war message. I would definitely watch it again!

    Pulp Fiction - Q. Tarantino 9/10
What's there to say? Just grand. I like Tarantino's style I really dig the dialogues. And the music. And the jumping between points of view. And... Just grand!

the main idea with the books is that there are too many not worthy to be read.

I enjoyed this one. Curious which actors did you find horrible? I also liked C Waltz very much..he was the main reason i liked the film (mr Pitt is lately a turn off for me, but his last two movies i've seen-well this one and the one you recommended were really good).

inglorious basterds.... really liked it, good characters and I always love it when people speak their own language, I hate it when everybody speak English just because it's an American movie. the French and I love listening to German, a beautiful language. Good bad guys if you know what I mean...

    I usually like Tarantino's movies.

Inglorious Basterds I liked it more than I thought I would. I do like Tarantino, and I'd forgotten how good he is at dialog. I don't care if they digress. The suspense. I felt that he really let the scene take its own time to develop. Personally I thought the acting was pretty good, but that Christoph Waltz was incredible and that he stole the show. 8/10

The Time-Traveler's WifeAnother pleasant surprise. Fairly well acted, the story is absorbing and touching. 7/10

I watch the same movies over and over again, every night. I choose new movies about twice a year. Some of the movies I watch, repeatedly, are "shawshank redemption", "ghost world", "royal tannebaums", "husbands and wives", "bridges of madison county", "kramer vs Kramer", "heartburn".

I alternate between these every night. It comforts me.
