The movie The Time Machine had a love story in it. This book didnt. Brush up.

I thought this book was a great story about how man is always trying to find the answer to the question, what if? The main character, The Time Traveler, traveled into the future searching for the reason why he couldn't change the past. He wanted to change the past because the woman he loved had died, and when he went back to try to save her, she died anyway in a different way. No matter what he did or how much he loved her he couldn't save her. He wanted to know, what if she hadn't died and they had been married? That question would have tortured him forever if he hadn't found true happiness in the future. Great book, I loved reading it.
