    Question Party slogan

I might have miss read part of the text but I'm a little confused.

One line of the party slogan is "Freedom is slavery" but I would have thought that the word freedom would be one of the first to be abolished by newspeak.

This would mean that the slogan (partially) wouldn't make sense to the populace.

You're right! It's all covered in the appendix of Newspeak, where it rightly points out that "freedom" won't be conceivable in the near future. At the time of 1984, the word still held some meaning, doubtless amongst the proles most of all, and is a carryover from the pseudo-socialist beginnings of the Party.
Go to work, get married, have some kids, pay your taxes, pay your bills, watch your tv, follow fashion, act normal, obey the law and repeat after me: "I am free."
