I change my nomination to The Dark: New Ghost Stories edited by Ellen Datlow.

Everyone loves a ghost story. This collection contains 16 ghost stories written by some of the best modern horror writers and literary fiction writers. It would also give an opportunity for those wanting to expand their horizons to check out new writers: Jeffrey Ford, Tanith Lee, Mike O'Driscoll, Ramsey Campbell, Kelly Link, Glen Hirshberg to name a couple. It was the winner of the international horror guild award for best anthology.

I mean seriously can we please do something different and less predictable than Dracula and Frankenstein, Lovecraft and Poe?! There all great stories and great writers, but everyone already knows about them, and can pick them up on their own. This is the perfect opportunity to explore some new voices and new writers.

I think a Stephen King book would be in order. Perhaps Bag of Bones or Misery.

It was not really a nomination, more of a question lol.. I was just surprised, but then again I am use to High School book clubs, were Dracula was always nominated lol.. No biggie..

I can't believe that beloved is considered horror. I guess in a way it is, but compared to the collector (a book that has inspired so many serial killers) I would have chosen that.

I'm a bit surprised myself to see Beloved on the list. Either way Scher, I'll not be voting since I can't promise to join, but I will try to join in on the reading. If I were to vote however, it would go to either The Collector or Thirsty
