    hey there,
    ...uhmm....not sure what I'm doin' here...anyway, I'll give it a try..!!
I'm Greek, 17 years old.I'm still a high-school student, final round!!In one year from now i'll be going at the university,i wanna be a teacher.I'm often dreaming of becoming a writer or a poet, too,but i know that 'd be pretty difficult...!!
I love reading books in their writer's own language, dislike translations!they make me think they kind of ''annihilate'' the writer's own thought and inspiration...that's the reason i'd like to study and learn many many languages...i can only speak english, german and greek, while i can understand ancient greek and latin,so far...but I love prototypes!!!
i love collecting second-hand, old books;i feel they've got a history, but family and friends feel i'm mad...yeap..!sometimes,having no books to read,i like just staying still and taking my surroundings in.it's not much, but it's relaxing and inspiring...i strongly dislike tv and computers...the latter i need though...!I also like cooking, and i love flowers and gardening...shame i don't have time!!
    i started reading english literature recently...wuthering heights simply amazed me; W.Shakespeare 's a genius.my approval isn't something he's interested in,though,i think!!
well, that's all the "interesting" KryStaLitsa
P.S.:forgive my english, there's lack of exercise

    Greetings!

I'm Kerry, I'm 19 and reside in the UK. I'm currently at university studying for a degree in Journalism and Media; and I'm also doing a part-time ILEX course at college.
My favourite author is Bret Easton Ellis - his book Less Than Zero changed my life. Although I am also a devout Chuck Palahniuk fan.
My favourite books of all time are as follows:
Bret Easton Ellis - American Psycho, Glamorama, Less Than Zero, Lunar Park, The Informers & The Rules of Attraction
Chuck Palahniuk - Choke, Rant, Invisible Monsters & Lullaby
    F. Scott Fitzgerald - The Great Gatsby
    George Orwell - Animal Farm
    James Herbert - Fluke
Jay McInerney - Story of my Life
    J. D. Salinger - The Catcher in the Rye
Ken Kesey - One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
Sylvia Plath - The Bell Jar

And I am currently reading Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell.

I look forward to posting on the boards!

    Welcome aboard, KrystaLista.

hey muhsin, thanks!!!i think i got your point, i'm not sure though...is it about minimalism in writing? about writing wisely but not plenty? if so,you may be right, but i used to think literature allows its funs to go for the "marriage" of both quality and variety!!!the "wisely but not plenty"-thing is probably in better match with journalism, not literature,i think...please correct me if i'm mistaken!! thanks again a lot

    Hello...

I am new to these forums. I found this site by typing in random thoughts.
You know how you go to the store for a certain item and leave with everything except THAT item? Yeah, that's me...a little scattered in life, but always collected on paper. Anyway, I'm here and hopefully I'll get to meet exciting new people who can share in the "random" experiences.

    Hello people!

Let me see... I'm a college freshman with an elementary education major, a dedicated reader, and an aspiring author. I love to talk about books, and crave the thrill of finishing my own books. Right now I'm praying that I edit my latest manuscript well so I can start sending out those submissions. It's always been my dream to be a published writer. For now though, I'm content to write for pleasure and collect good books to read.

It's so hard to pick a favorite book, especially since I only became addicted to reading a few years ago. Of the books I've read so far, I greatly enjoyed Dracula (Bram Stoker), Watership Down (Richard Adams), Sharpe's Rifles (Bernard Cornwell), and Out of the Silent Planet (C.S. Lewis). As far as nonfiction goes, my most profitable read by far has been the life-changing work The Imitation of Christ by the monk Thomas a'Kempis.
