The doctors didn't know if my eyes would ever heal."

I just finished William Bolcom's setting of the whole of Willaim Blake's Songs of Innocence and Experience.

A phenomenal work of contemporary classical music which combines lush orchestral music with a vast array of American folk music: bluegrass, blues, cabaret, Broadway, rock, even reggae in an absolutely eclectic mix demanding the efforts of a huge orchestra, multiple choirs, and dozens of soloists... like a work of art by Robert Rauschenberg.

Right now I'm off in left field with something completely different: Mechanical Music by Gyorgi Ligetti.

The closest think to it is if one were to cross Phillip Glass with a little of Bach's organ work and the synthesizer opening to the the Who's Won't Get Fooled Again.
