I had to read this book for a requird class my junior year. I agree with you that it was hard to get through, but I still think that is was an excellent book. If I had to, I would read it all over again.

When I began the Scarlet Letter for my advanced AP American History/English Integrated class, I thought I would never be able to get through it. I could barely understand it. I have sort of a block for books that are assigned to us, that we are forced to read, so I rarely enjoy them, but this one I began to like. The language was very confusing and hard to understand. Of course, I did poorly on my tests, but I still enjoyed the book. I have nothing against all of you out there who hate it with every atom of their being, but the rest of you out tere should at least give it a chance and try the first few chapters and give yourself a chance to get used to the language before you bash the book. Thanks.
