Jocky might be right behind you virg but I have a legitimate query: Did you just offer a preference for hairy toenails - I think the world needs answers. Are the female hobbits of the shire safe?![]()

I could post something long and arduous about societal norms imposed by male owned and operated media, but I won't because I've done that a million times, and I think that you can see where I'm going with it anyway.
I used to have them. They were nice and safe, in that you always had a hairstyle that looked like you at least put in some effort. They frame your face nicely. The problem is, they really hide your face. They change the whole dynamic of your appearance. I'm always amazed at how hair can do that. When I had bangs I always looked okay, but I never looked stellar. It was also a hassle to keep them flat and strait when I got out of the shower.
As to why they're called bangs, I was told that it was a reference to bangtailed horses (when their tail hair is cut just like bangs).

"Personal note: When I was a little kid my mother told me not to stare into the sun. So once when I was six, I did. At first the brightness was overwhelming, but I had seen that before. I kept looking, forcing myself not to blink, and then the brightness began to dissolve. My pupils shrunk to pinholes and everything came into focus and for a moment I understood. The doctors didn't know if my eyes would ever heal."

JuniperWoolf, that has got to be the most comrehensive and utterly convincing explanation of bangs it has been my privelege to witness. Of course, I do not have a scooby what you are talking about, but you did it with flair and panache. There is always the male version of bangs, but this does not require such an in depth analysis.![]()
She's right Jocky! The term comes from horse tails. Most people let a horse's tail grow long and flowing and uneven, but there's this process of cutting the hair at the bottom so it's level across (like female straight bangs are), and that is called a banged tail.
I have bangs! Their angled, not straight and I don't have any intention of growing them out. As Juniper said, they frame my face better and help balance my curls.
I'm weary with right-angles, abbreviated daylight,
Waiting for a winter to be done.
Why do I still see you in every mirrored window,
In all that I could never overcome?
I'd allowed my bangs to grow out, it was no fun at all! However, finally the flopping in my face got to me, I hate to have to pin my hair back, so I've cut myself some bangs again. Much thinner this time.
I have to say I prefer them on me.
Re toe hairs...don't worry, the older you get, the more the hair thins. One consolation of age. Less shaving. heh
Far be it from me to get into a philisophical discussion on womans physogomies, but old Shaky got it right, God gave you one face and you made yourselves another, you amble, you lisp, need I go on? The problem with you gals is you cant escape the fact that us men are so good looking, we dont need artificial stimulants. Classic you really need to stop obsessing on bangs. That is Jocky's final word on the matter.![]()

What a daft question, tartan obviously! Its a nightmare to put on, but well worth the effort. Still juicy tomato sounds interesting.
That is what I have been longing to hear. With all that horse knowledge do you think you could find it in your heart to predict the winner of the group one classic at Glorious Goodwood tomorrow. The ground will be good to soft and all eleven go. I dont want to pressure you Classic but my house, car, marriage and kids are all at stake.![]()
