I guess when it comes to decorating, there isn't a win/win in our house. He doesn't like the drapes but it's okay to keep the toolbox on the dining room table so I give up. And let me tell you about the the can of foot spray on my coffee table. Better Homes and Gardens wants to photograph our house for their magazine. NOT!
I laughed when I read this It's no different in my house. My husband tells me I am the Captain of the house and I can do anything I want except he has to ok it. Our tastes in decorating are not the same. You should see some of the things he has picked up off the street that people were throwing out. YUCK!!!! but he thinks yhey were great pieces.

    Good answer!

I tend to go with the 'If I can't afford to buy them then that would be too many' approach. On the other hand, this leaves open the possibility of finding a cheaper pair that I like too

There's always shoes out there which I really want to have, or shoes in my closet which I would like to loose

Money is definitely a limiting value... as is space...

Alll riiiiigghhtttt. See my dilemmawas that my shoes were all over the bottom of my entirely too small closet, I had a small shoe rack but it wasn't enough. I bought two additional racks and rearranged my closet to accomodate the new racks.

Well, I still have some shoes floating around but I have room for one more rack I was trying to decide if I should thin the herd or just get another rack.

I'm on my way to pick up a new rack

I also think I want a new job. As most everybody knows I work in a chemical plant where I wear steel toe shoes. Every day. Steel toes are not cute. I always see women going off to their offices in their cute shoes and I long to be wearing my cute shoes to work which would justify my need for all those shoes...

That is a justifiable reason for a new job!

    I just want a job.

My husband got a job offer today and he wants it, but it's a cut in pay. Other than the reduced pay it's a great offer.

Even with the resuced pay, if its a great job he should take it. I know that if i left my job there is slim chance of me getting anything near what i earn now.
Oh and congrats on 3000 posts MH!

    Thanks, Niamh. I didn't realize I had 3000.

It's a job he loves to do. But, he left this field of work about 10 years ago (full time, he still does some occasional part time) because of the low pay and the "dark side" of the job. Everything has its down side.

Even with that I think he should take the job. It's a bit decesion with so many different things to consider. It's not like a 9-5 regular job.

I cannot WAIT to get job searching in a few weeks. I don't particularly need anything in my field at the moment (I'm lucky enough I can pursue that from home), I just want to escape the coffee shop!

motherhubbard, good luck to your hubby in making his decision. And congrats on 3000 posts!

Really? I hated looking for a new job this summer! I get all nervous and insecure, though I think that's because for all my previous jobs, I never had to submit a resume or do an interview or anything. That whole process makes me very nervous.
I'm weary with right-angles, abbreviated daylight,
Waiting for a winter to be done.
Why do I still see you in every mirrored window,
In all that I could never overcome?
