My name is Jim, I have just joined LNF primarily because my wife and I have a trip planned in August to the outer islands of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. While traveling we would like to read some good historical fiction set in these climes. I enjoy reading Wilbur Smith and Ken Follet. If you know of anything that might help us identify with the people and the times they have lived through in this Celtic and seaward part of our world. Please let me know. We love to use our Kindles, so if you know of down-loadable titles that would be great. Thanks! Jim
Heyy, I'm new here! Found this forum while trying to do a paper on a Tale of Two Cities for english class. As a writer, I found myself looking around the site and I loved what I saw, so I signed up! <3
... Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright,
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn too late, they grieved it on it's way,
Do not go gentle into that good night....

Hello,
I wanted to give a quick introduction so here goes. I am 36 years of age and have been writing fiction off and on for some time now. During the day I work as a systems administrator in pale, and somber IT office and at night is when I change into (insert favorite superhero here) and all the fun begins.
I'm hoping to get some critiques on some short stories that I plan on posting and improve a bit on my writing skills. I am also looking forward to building relationships with other writers here.
For now I must return to the somber hell that is my office where I shall be flogged until I turn in a TPS report to my 3 boss.
