    Cookies, anyone?

I love coffee, but I'm a snob about it. I can't do just any old pot. Nope, I buy beans that are roasted when I order them, and then I grind them fresh every day It's bad enough that my Valentine's day gift was an espresso machine so that now I can make a tasty latte whenever I like which has this uncanny ability to be at 10pm. Does anyone else have the tendency to settle down in the evening with a caffinated drink? Everyone always tends to swear that it keeps them up, but as long as I don't go overboard I don't have an issue.

Wow... I guess I am exactly the opposite: I can drink the lousiest coffee, as long as it is coffee However, I have roommates who are a bit more picky about it all and they indeed buy fresh beans and we grind them every day because there just is no regular coffee in the house anymore I know - that sounds spoiled. But if we all chip in on it and buy our beans on sale, it proves to be quite affordable Just not when you drink as much coffee as I do, so I have my own machine

And no, I don't have an issue with it - ever. What would you call overboard? I easily drink 2 big mugs of coffee after 21h ...

Coffee doesn't keep me up as much as tea does

Caffeine really doesn't affect me at all unless I drink a lot of it in a really short space of time. Otherwise, coffee and tea tend to make me more sleepy, just because they're all warm and relaxing.

A good "sleepy drink" is warm milk with honey or with anise. Mmmm

That is why I think soda doesn't affect me at all. I drink too much of it that I think I may be immune to it. Then again, it never made me hyper as a kid, like people say it does. It never had an affect on me like that. I honestly don't understand the Mountain Dew thing. I don't see how it makes one hyper because, like I said, MD and Coke are my drinks of choice, and I have NO reaction to them at all. It is interesting.

I abhor the taste of coffee. I do love a good piece of coffee cake, though! Was the cake actually made with coffee? I find very few that are nowadays, and that is why I think I can tolerate the taste of them.
