Lynch is amazing at creating tension. I usually laugh at the absurd, but when Lynch does it I can't help but squirm, like when the new neighbor visits Dern. I liked all of Lynch's film except Lost Highway, but there are moments in that film that justified me purchasing it. I agree with you in that I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen he other work. What did you think of Lynch's song Ghost of Love?

Yes Man, soooooooooooo contrived. Rhys Darby provided a few laughs, but no enough for give this movie any stars. Zero.
Notorious: both the directing and script were mediocre.

I'm boyotting that movie because they completely changed the original true story. You should read the book. Its hillarious...not based in the US and is about a guy who works for the BBC. He has other books, one that i want to read is how he ended up setting up his own cult one time.
This is the man behind the story (nutter that he is! lol)

I love that movie.
I saw Grand Torino with Clint Eastwood and I reviewed it in my blog. Feel free to read the review and comment: http://www.online-literature.com/forums/blog.php?b=7232.
I'd rate it as a 7 out of 10.

Benjamin Button - Good acting, nice filming, nice colours, extremely long, and a very hollywoodised version of the book, blah. 6/10

i don't know what to say about this. i like going to the beach, but this has too much sand in it you can feel the discomfort.
Gran Torino. I liked it. It's not a great movie, but it is good, I think. Clint plays Dirty Harry, but with a twist. 7/10

Just saw Welcome To Hard Times. It's the first western I've been able to sit through the first half hour of. I watched the whole thing and I really liked it. I was surprised when I actually became anxious at the outcome.
saw the first few minutes of Anna Karenina (the one with the guy who played Dr Octopus) then i realized i'm still reading the book.
The last movie I saw was Amelie, it was truly beautiful. It's quite peculiar that I have not seen it before. Be sure to watch it, even again, if you have seen it!
