    Hey ladies...hot chocolate anyone?

And an ice pack for my thighs?
I went to the gym yesterday and got a massive runners high and then did waayyy too much of a workout after. I hurt
I'm weary with right-angles, abbreviated daylight,
Waiting for a winter to be done.
Why do I still see you in every mirrored window,
In all that I could never overcome?

    ibuprofen might help...

I'm going to start waking up at 4 or 5 am and walking everyday. I am going to work my way up to jogging.

I've been planning to do this the past three days. It hasn't happened yet.

21 days here and no alchohol Seriously, it was beginning to be a problem. I've got to run off some blubber and keep my thoughts clear for a while. Then next fall, I'm going to have a pumpkin ale and get nice and giddy after just two. Or maybe in the summer. I''m a big fan of the summer ales....hmmm....

Sprinks you are too young to put your back out! esopecailly if you are goiung to work in a library, ( everyone at work has devveloped job related back problems ) the jkey not to bend when shelving but to crouch, or simply give in and sit on the floor!

You should crouch regardless. That means you are using your legs and not your back.

I have Hypermobile Joint Syndrome - I put everything out in seconds! I sit at the chiropractors and everytime I move I crack, and then I'm told "You're not meant to do that, it's my job!". Yes I've learnt to kneel at work if I know it'll be a bit of a job on the bottom shelves, and I do often end up sitting on the floor doing it . I do okay there, and it's actually helping me strengthen up. I did a year and a half or so after my knee ops of physio, and I really shouldn't have stopped, but I did. So doing my job at the library is actually a really good thing .
The job helps my confidence too, my condition will pretty much only get worse (my hips are starting to get a lot worse, they crack often now.) so I was worried I'd never be able to manage a real job, because it gets worse each generation and my mum is only in her 30s and is already classified as disabled because of the condition.

Humm no worries sprinksy keep up with libraries ( esp as as far as I can tell australia is the promised land and the frontier of public library invoation) its the twisting that generally is the danger ( oh and pushing and riding on heavy book trollies or spinning them round and round ans stopping them with one hand which ends uup with you being jerked right around, isnt too good for your back , fun yes good no!)

Im in the danger bracket for slipped discs and chronic back pain myself so Ive been thinking about doing some excersise to strengthen my back , also I really need to lose weight, any ideas aanyone?

Yeah I got warned about trolley dangers , and mostly I just have to watch my wrists, from pushing too many books at once.

Not really, I'd suggest going to a physiotherapist or the like for back strengthening things, because things like that are better off tailored to the individual because they can cause damage if you do ones unsuitable to yourself. I can't do much physical activity due to my HMS, so mostly I just do bike riding (exercise bike though ), swimming (I had to do hydrotherapy anywho) and walking, mostly with the dog.

I think Imight take up running ( ran for the first time since I was 6 a couple of weeks ago and it was such a fantastic stress relief I kind want to do it again!) or race walking

you do a lot of walking around anyway nightie. Have you thought of investing in an exercise ball? can get them for a fiver and they can be used to strengthen your back, tone up and correct posture. I use one. They are used in the alexander technique and Palates.
I noticed this week with the aniseed balls, that everytime i felt like a munch (which is when i usually raid my house) i sucked on one of them instead and i didnt eat as much crap! been great. so everytime you fancy a munch suck on an aniseed ball!!!

That reminds me a little of a girl I know who was trying to stop biting her nails last year, and so she carried around toothpicks to chew on instead. Which is fine and all, but it was so funny when she'd look at you and say "Would you like a toothpick?" .
I'm pretty good at breaking habits if I want. All I have to do is one night think "I must stop biting my nails" and I don't do it again. But then they break and I bite them again. If they didn't break I'd be fine!

Speaking of which, I'm going to paint my nails green and yellow for Australia day . Well... maybe just green if I can't find yellow

Very Patriotic! Although i'd represent yellow more with Oz than green.
