    Hands

Darn it, darn it, darn it, but I have to delete the poem. I want to enter it into a contest but it can't be published beforehand, even electronically. So I'll just leave one verse. And when I don't win, I'll put it back up.

Thank you SO MUCH for all the lovely comments, though, they mean the world to me!!

    I see
    hands, cracked and red-chapped
    from dishes and the cold.
    Short inelegant fingers and a
    wide, fleshy palm. These are
my hands - the hands of a dreamer -
the hands of one ending one life
    and beginning another.

"The time has come," the Walrus said,
    "To talk of many things:
    Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
    Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
    And whether pigs have wings."

    I really enjoyed that. Thanks.
Reality is what refuses to go away when I stop believing in it.

Complex problems have simple, easy to understand, wrong answers.

It's hard to convince people you're killing them for their own good."

This very moving. What a loving look at the various stages of life we will inhabit.
