We usually read a novel rather than a short story, Niamh

I just joined, so can't nominate- but maybe someone legit. would suggest my favorite Christmas short story- "A Christmas Cordial" by Laura Kalpakian. Hard to find- think I read it in one of the Winters Tales- an old series of collected short stories from Great Britain.

Now I am wondering whether I should nominate Dickens' Chimes instead...

I'll withdraw my nomination of The Christmas Mystery by Jostein Gaarder and nominate Dickens' Chimes instead.
