yep actually her high spiritedness and haightiness lead her to her illness and much worse to her marriage to the colonel. but about the "feminist" thing i'm all lost about that.
No, there isn't any in Marianne. Her whole thing is about not letting your emotions take ahold of you.

Marianne is a true romantic. She has read all sorts of poetry and literature that refer to drama and tragic romance, so she believes that is the type of love she needs: the maddening passion and willingness to die for the other person. She is like the 18th century version of a girl who believes in fairytales and happily ever after, but when she comes to reality, she finds the love she has been searching for that she never saw coming.
