home waxing is the worst. If you don't get a good grip on your strip and if you don't rip fast enough, it's the worst pain ever. But at least you get more done with one rip than if you pluck.... I hate plucking. I'd rather someone just wax it for me. And they need to apply pressure to the area right after they rip - it makes it hurt less.

My Significant Other said that hair grows on guys as they get older-that's why all the nose hair and hair on their backs and stuff. I hope this helps.

why do some older women have NO eyebrows? ist it because they overwaxed or got lousy electrolysis or does it just stop growing there on women? Because I've seen some old men with major eyebrows...

My mother hasn't had eyebrows for years but that is because of her thyroid. Maybe a lot of women have some sort of health issues that caused that to happen to them. Who knows?

My eyebrows are thin but I still need to shape them. I have dark brows. So when the hair grows back, I definitely need to shape them again. Even though they are thin, it still looks silly the other way. I always pluck. I don't have enough hair there to bother with anything like waxing. Plucking works just fine for me. As for hair not coming back, I have noticed that there is a spot where part of the eyebrow didn't come back. Yet, there is another part where the eyebrow looks thicker. So I don't know what would happen with waxing because I am not sure if the plucking has done this to me.

My eyebrows are pretty thick and lusturous. seriously, my eyebrows are pretty thick. At home I wax above my brow and between them but I save the shaping and under the eyebrow for the professionals.

My mom has really thin eyebrows, they have always been like that so I don't know if it's an age thing. She says she overplucked when she was younger and they never grew back.

She isn't as hairy as I am, I don't think she even shaves her legs - she never has stuble and very rarely do I see a razor around - it's darn annoying why didn't I get those genes??

My mam has never had to shave in her life. she has about two fair hairs on her legs and thats it. I'm like an ape. dark thick hair too. I dont wax.
I have pretty thick brows too, but i pluck. I dont pluck them thin. I still have the natural shape. all i do is pluck the stragglers that make brows look bushy. I like my shape and a lot of people have complemented them. I had threading done one, but i wasnt really happy. The woman who did them told me i needed to grow hair back in one area so she could give me a better shape next time. I cant magicly grow hair where i have a scar going through my eyebrow!!!! eh hello!!

I pluck my eyebrows, not much and not often, but anyway. My brows are rather light (as is the hair on my legs, which is nice, because I don't have to shave them that often even in the summer), so it doesn't matter if I don't pluck them for a couple of weeks. (It also means that I cannot apply mascara unless I use an eyebrow pencil too, because then it would look like I didn't have eyebrows at all. Without eye make-up I look really weird, like if I had neither eyebrows nor eyelashes...) I too like the natural shape of my eyebrows, I only pluck a little bit from under them, you know the stray ones.

The first time I plucked my eyebrows hurt a lot, but after you've plucked once the next times don't hurt half as much. I guess that once you've plucked the hairs don't grow back the same as they were and they are easier to remove.

yeah i only pluck the stray ones too. I dont have as many is i once did.
And you are right, the more you pluck, the less you feel it. Mine only hurt if i have accidently pinched my skin, which can happen when you are plucking at 5.15am before going to work and you are still half asleep.

The thing is, the first time I decided to trim my eyebrows, I asked my sister to do it and she did a terrible job. More specifically, she started plucking the upper part and then realized she'd exagerated. So my eyebrows are not at the same level...

Since then I've been going to a professional, but believe it or not, the upper part still hasn't grown back. (it's been almost three years) I don't understand, why is it that the lower ones keep growing back and the upper ones have completely disapeared...

With regards to pain, it's true that the more you do it, the less pain you feel.
However I really recommenda professional cuz they do it so fast that the pain is over in no time. And at the end they give you a little face massage with soothing cream...

Sometimes in the winter I get a small dry patch on my eyelid. I've tried smothering it in lotion and I've gone to the doctor and was given steroids for it but it still comes back, any suggestions?

I overwashed my hands on Tuesday when I was doing housework. It also got really cold here the last few nights. My hands are now chapped, and red and they hurt. Washing them irritates them, but it's not like I can just not wash my hands. Maybe I should smear some neosporin on them and wear plastic gloves all day? I don't have to go anywhere until later...

put sudocream on your hands and use cotton gloves before going to bed. sleep with the gloves on. I did this when i worked in archaeology and it worked wonders.

I got my eyebrows waxed yesterday. I've probably asked this before, and I've probably been told, but does waxing eventually lead to diminished hairgrowth?

Hair can be permanently removed only by laser (and not always)..black and thick hair can be more easily removed by laser (and has better results which means you'll get rid of them eventually) than lets say blond and thin. I have asked my dermatologist my friend had more that 10 laser sessions (she is of the black and thick type of hair) and the results are really good. It is a bit expensive though.
