promt: I did not read your list in its entire (sorry) but I have found Alexie somewhat underwhelming, and his parables more than mildly confusing. I get the voice of conscience in Richard Wright and Toni Morrison, et al--but Alexie isn't much of a poster child for the Native American chip on the shoulder. He seems more worried about ethnic sexual ambiguity. Who is gay, straight, pedophile, and how he defines himself through this.
