    Feelings

Why is it so difficult to talk about feelings, especially with close friends? Why, in our world, this subject become undesirable and so often mutual relations between people rely on insinuations? Why?

I have a few select, special people who I talk about my feelings to. I am, by nature, very introspective and self-critical, and I need outlets for such internal speculation. Once I have built trust in somebody, I don't find it hard to express my emotions to them.

    a common question

    and impossible to answer

maybe it has to do with vulnerability

or with wanting to keep a part of yourself private, and at the same time wanting to share that privacy. We all are a knot of conflicting interdependencies

and this reply is not helping you in any way. sorry
Bricolage: a process which uses given material, given signifiers but which creates from these new signifiers, a new reality which is not given.

The bricoleur may not ever complete his purpose but he always puts something of himself into it.

Because I tend to speak before I think and sometimes make myself and others mad, I find it helps to tell my problems to a peice of paper ( well, maybe more than a piece depending on the problem). I scribble everything down without worrying about grammar, punctuation, or spelling (which also helps to vent any anger because I'm "breaking the law" :o ) Then, if I don't want anyone to see it, I shred it up and throw it away, or keep it in my keepsake box to read and learn over later.

Whatever the case I've written all the garbage out of the way so that when I do talk to someone (if I still need to) I say less things that I'll regret.

Now that I'm married, however, I usually just talk to my husband about my problem and he helps me figure a way out of it. Isn't he wonderful!?

Maybe it's just an instinct. Don't open yourself to anyone, 'cause it might be used against you when things get out of hand.
    I have a plan: attack!

I agree with Munro. Once I gain that certain level of trust with someone, I feel like I can tell them anything. Of course you will not encounter very many people like that in your life, but I've got two or three people who I know I can talk to about anything, sans judgement. You just have to be on the same level with them, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually...that's why it's so rare.

It's great if we can find real friends, but unfortunately it is imposible to recognize them at first glance. It's difficult to give confidence to other people even when we know them.
