My problem with The Royal Tenebaums is pretty similar to the problem I have with Napoleon Dynamite - people keep telling me it is funny but the jokes dont really hit with me at all, at least not to the extent everyone goes on about.

With Hot FUzz it might just be that I cant stand the main actor - he annoys me for some unkown reason.

All those moderately funny movies are doomed to fail, as they cease being funny as soon as people's minds change. They all always suffer from a moderate Emperor's New Clothes syndrome, and then disappear entirely.
Not sure about that. For example Caddyshack is still damn hilarious, the films by those you mention are this generation's version of them.

Worst movie ever: Galaxy Quest. I had to sit through it with my brother. He told me it was the "funniest movie I would ever see." A lie. A waste of time. Worst.

I still don't get Napoleon Dynamite. I thought it was awful and boring!
