Finding a lost short story

I remember reading a short story with two hunters (It's narrated in 1st person) and 2 birds and the love between the birds. I'd love to know the title...I've suddenly got this urge to read it again. Help...please?

Isn't it strange how the simple titles are the most difficult to recall.
