    Exclamation Animal Farm video

Hi, i have just finished reading Animal Farm by George Orwell and i loved it! However id like to get a better understanding of the book by watching the video. Im aware of the 1999 version on google video, but ive heard the animated version is more accurate to the book. If anyone could help me out i would really appriciate it. Thanks.

You've beenm advised correctly, the 1999 version is terrible and doesn't follow the book, while the 1970s [I think] animated film is 100% faithful to the book. Try Limewire if your DVD stockist doesn't have it.

I just saw a video this spring of the Animal Farm. It seems to have been the 1970's version, because it was in that older style of animation, had the music that seemed straight from a Party propaganda video and was very accurate with the book (at least as far as I could recall from the distance of 10 years since reading it).

The odd thing was that it ended with the fall of the USSR and the spread of freedom and democracy. Was this the 1990's video, or the 1970's one with a historical update?

I have only seen the 1999 version and I had to turn it off half way through because of how awful it was. I believe that the 1990s version (if any) would have the collapse of the USSR because how history unfolded at that point in time. I doubt the 1970s version would predict such an outcome.

Besides, movies always ruin books; don't they?

The earlier version finished in the same place and way as the book, looking at the animals and men playing cards and not knowing which was which.

If anyone can ever find a copy, please let me know!

You have to sign up to Rapidshare (which i'm already with) to be able to get their service. I prefer rapidshare over torrent as the links are there and generally faster.

In the 1954 animated film, the animals revolted against the pigs.

I always felt that after the graphic demise of Boxer, it was only fair.
