"You must be the change you want to see in the world." Gandhi
Dear Prince Myshkin,
Here is one from me.
----------------------------------------------------
Life.
............
Life made me wonder sometimes,
Many a time it just passed me by.
I was watching the partying around,
Thinking "Why am I not there?".
Life !it was never as I wanted it be,
It was turbulous when I had serenity,
Suddenly it sends a bolt across,
So your serenity is lost.
Life!Taught me lessons,
To wait and watch,
And be grateful,
For those small mercies.
Yet! I love life, for when you,
Cannot get what you want,
You learn to accept,
What is given. This Life!!! A great Teacher.
Life!
It's abundance
doled out--
to the abundant.
Life!
Constantly picking,
taking chunks
from the deprived,
the poor in spirit,
becoming alms
for the--
abundant.

I'm in love with The Vinegar Man and Mr. Tanner, but be careful, it could just as easily be you.

I wonder if life thinks about us,
the way we think about
life?

It's All in the Perspective
Like busy ants,
they all scurry through
tiny winding passageways,
gathering this and that,
stopping occasionally
to greet each other,
smile, shake hands,
then rush off again,
pulling behind them
tiny wagons loaded to
overflowing with various
odds and ends that
they call Life....
...while Life watches
from the sidelines,
relaxed, in his Lazyboy,
remote control in his
outstretched hand,
flipping casually from
station to station,
hoping for something
a little less desperate,
a little less consuming,
a little more carefree
and spontaneous --
a comedy perhaps --
(his favourites being
Lucille Ball, Red Skelton,
or Carol Burnett) --
a Starbucks double shot
and a plate of cinnamon biscotti,
very thinly sliced,
on the table at his elbow.

“Those who seek to satisfy the mind of man by hampering it with ceremonies and music and affecting charity and devotion have lost their original nature””
“If water derives lucidity from stillness, how much more the faculties of the mind! The mind of the sage, being in repose, becomes the mirror of the universe, the speculum of all creation.
Life! What would we do without you?!
goldenrod.
Life peeps in
through a foggy window
images in a glass, darkly
shadows and vapors
breathe in, breathe out...
Some of us laugh
Some of us cry
Some of us smoke
Some of us lie
But it's all just the way
that we cope with our lives...
Marvelously written this poem to speak girth immensity. SCode:ubtle and intricate.
