    Home

Home is nestled in the woods.
Where dandelion haze floats on the breeze,
    glimmering in the summer sun
    before reaching destinations unseen.

Home is the smell of cut honeysuckle.
    An endless green expanse,
below a colorful menagerie of birds
    performing an intricate dance.

Home is at the head of a holler.
Not a hallow as some would say.
Those who enjoy looking down on us
and whisper of our backwards ways.

Home is where I lay may head.
And thank God for sending me to Eden.
While some pray for more rewards on earth,
I am content that I have recieved them.
    Permit me to doubt.

I really like this! The imagery is beautifully phrased, and the idea of pride in the face of contempt is very noble.
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.
