I've seen the 1940 version. I even own it.

The BBC version is good because it is much more faithful to the book. But the 1940 version isn't unfaithful. I suppose I lean towards the other because it is longer and I get more of the story.

I just never understood why their fashions didn't fit the period more. Oh, I don't care. Greer Garson is wonderful as always. I really like Olivier's Darcy. I really like this version.
The second "Elizabeth" film I have yet to see. I am expecting it to be good no matter what. I just don't want to be disappointed in it.
"Shine". Very good film. Brilliant soundtrack, by the way.
Oh, and "Quills". I LOVE IT!!!! The film that started my Joaquin Pheonix obsession!

I love this movie! I love Rush's performance in there! I haven't seen it in years, though.

Now I have been put in the mood for it again.
