What kind of fabric are your pants ?

    I just checked the two pairs that I wahed today - 97% Cotton, 3 % Lycra and 98% Cotton, 2 % Lycra

    How longer in the dryer?

One pair today is pretty good but still needs to be ironed.

Cotton is bad. It gets so wrinkly I hate ironing also, so I just don't buy things that require ironing. And if I accidently get some difficult fabric, I just wear it wrinkly, or I take it to the cleaners, and wear it once and then file it in the back of closet and go buy more poly-blend.

I buy my husbands khakis and work shirts and all of them MUST have the no-wrinkle label before I buy them because I don't really have time to press his shirts and I've found out the hard way that he will just wear it wrinkly. Luckily, the other people at his office are polo and khaki guys also, and I've seen them wearing faded beyond hope polos and not so pressed khakis. His job is not about image, so that is good for me. If it were, I would just budget in the cleaner's bill

it's perfect when the clothes are dry and warm to the touch.

I love cotton, it just feels so nice on the skin and I actually find ironing to be really relaxing...that is as long as the amount stays within reason. Luckily, my job doesn't require pressed clothing, church clothes are about the only things I have to iron so it's not so bad.

I agree with Idril...ironing can be relaxing.
I only iron something when I need to use it.
I NEVER iron beforehand. I hate to wear clothes that's been ironed too long in advance.

Maybe if I knew what I was doing, ironing would be relaxing. When I iron, the little ironing board pad comes off the bored while I am ironing and there is this bump I have to iron over. The iron table itself kind of wobbles and I just don't know how to situate the clothing on the ironing board. My husband's aunt would always iron his shirts for him so he was always clean pressed until he met me

did someone teach you all how to iron, or did you just figure it out for yourselves? I remember watching my grandmother iron, and then I tried it myself. The first thing I ironed was a white cotton shirt. When I was done with it, it was a white cotton shirt with a burn mark on it, and some black crusty stuff seared into it.

    Ugh...ironing,why bother?
I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of anything than of a book! When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.

Shalot, my Mom taught me to iron.

She taught me by letting me iron my Dad's handkerchiefs [I hope I spelt that right!]. Then I graduated to pillowcases, my dolls' clothes, etc.

I guess I like ironing now cause it reminds me of the times my Mom and I spent together!

I remember getting one of those "kids say the darndest things" emails. The only one I remember was about a family at church: After mass the pastor was greeting people at the back of the church, a little girl came up to shake hands and the pastor commented on the pretty dress the girl was wearing, the little girl said "Thank you, Mom says it's a ***** to iron". That's how I feel about most cloths.

Awww, that's too bad! My son has Crohn's disease which has a lot of the same symptoms and he can't have popcorn anymore and it just kills him, especially when we go to the movies.
