Leah: Hebrew (Weary). Combined with my middle name, I am a "weary Christian."

Fred Mertz: Now what are we supposed to do? Thumb a ride on a passing halibut?

My name is Frank. It was originally the name of a germanic spear, then of a germanic tribe. It means free man. The name goes back to my great great grandfather, a Magyar immigrant.

    Interesting thread...

OK, here we go: Claes is a Swedish version of Nicolaus (of Greek origin), which I find pretty amusing when you connect the fact that I was born on Christmas Day, with the fact that the Greek Saint Nicholaus over the years have turned into the Anglo-Saxon Santa Claus: Father Christmas.

As it happens, my daughters name (Nicole) also originates from Nicolaus

My given first name's latin too and means "star".

@Claes: Saint Nikolaus (Nicholas) is still celebrated on the 6th of December over here. We don't have a Father Christmas so far.

I'm pretty sure lily of the valley is symbolic of death. That's what I've always heard anyway. So, if that's true, I guess the two meanings fit.

Edit: OH! My name is a funny one. I get all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff.

    Google Result One:
The girl's name Carly \c(a)-rly, car-ly\, also used as boy's name Carly, is a variant of Carla (Latin), Carlie, Carol (English), Caroline (French, Latin, Italian) and Charlotte (French), and the meaning of Carly is "little and womanly".

    Google Result Two:

    Meaning: Pet form of Carlene

    Google Result Three:
The Meaning of the name Carly

No wonder why I'm such a confused person!

Maximiliano (or Maximilian, in English) comes from Latin Maximilianus (I didn't come up with a fanciful user name ), and it means "the greatest".

Oh no, I'm not that big. I'm just a regular sized dude

Robin... I'm thinking "bird." It probably doesn't get any deeper than that.
