Ethel Mertz: Gee, this high altitude sure gives me an appetite.
Fred Mertz: What's your excuse at sea level?

Fred Mertz: Now what are we supposed to do? Thumb a ride on a passing halibut?
Ricky Ricardo: I can't afford it.
Lucy Ricardo: Those must have been the first English words you learned.

I might have convinced my dad to join LitNet and the Book Club here. He was interested in the "one country per month" idea.

    The stars are far brighter
    Than gems without measure
    The moon is far whiter
    Than silver in treasure
    The sire is more shining
    On hearth in the glooming
    Than gold won by mining

I sang of leaves, of leaves of gold, and leaves of gold there grew.

    today is only yesterday's tomorrow...

To kiz_paws: As an inveterate hiker, I know shin-splints well. One way they occur is when you walk on soft trail for a few hours (or days) and then walk on blacktop or concrete. That will really give you a painfull case. The only cure I ever found was "feet up" for a day. quasi
    Thanks, quasi!
