Hello everyone , I've been reading the forums here for a couple of weeks and finally decided to join. There really is not a lot to tell you about myself...I'm currently 25 and have had a great love for literature ever since I first learned to read. I wish that I could remember the name of the teacher that gave me the gift of reading, because she helped to open new and exciting worlds for me. My favorite authors include Dostoevsky(whom I have been reading a lot of lately), Tolstoy, Shakespeare, Willa Cather, Homer, Plato, Anais Nin, Tolkien, Ray Bradbury, and honestly the list goes on and on. I am also a huge fan of music and will listen to pretty much anything, but rap(and even that on occasion). My family moved around a lot, when I was younger(and I seem to continue to do so) so my books have always been my best friends. Anyways, I can't think of anything else to really tell you, but I do look forward to getting to know you all better and to any future discourse we may have.
"...he is the artist of his own life, and creates it for himself every hour to suit his latest whim."-Dostoevsky

Hi, I've just joined up. I love literature and writing. I am currently reading "Sons and Lovers" by DH. Lawrence. I don't know what my favourite book or author is because there are too many to choose from. I live in Australia, married and have 3 teenagers. I'm studying journalism at university and I'll finish at the end of next year.
    Cheers.

Hey everyone! I'm Layli, from America via Spain and China. I'm here because a friend (she shall remain unnamed) forced me to register and post some of my poetry. I originally found the "Poetry Post" page, and tried to post a poem, but it doesn't want to cooperate. After I sign in, it still tells me that I have to sign in before I can post any poetry. Any suggestions?

    Hi, everyone!

I found this forum a few monthes back but not until today did I decide at last to become a member. I love reading, playing piano and harp, and having fun with my brothers. A few of my favorite authors are: Jane Austen, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Agatha Christie, P.G. Wodehouse, and Charlotte Bronte, among others. I like to write, but am still working on the discipline involved.

I'm looking forward to talking to people who actually like reading!

"Are-are you there too, Sir?" said Edmund.
"I am," said Aslan, "but there I have another name. You must learn to know me by that name."

But I just wanted to drop by to say "Hi". Word.

Christ takes the slums out of the people and then they take themselves out of the slums. Christ changes men, who then changes their environment. The world would shape human behavior, but Christ can change human nature." ~ Ezra Taft Benson
