Forever Lost
As bullets shattered,
Our little town.
My parents looking,
I was nowhere to be found.
I scream silent words,
That no one can hear.
I’m all alone,
Still feeling my fear.
In the warmth of my blood,
Upon a cold floor.
I stare blankly,
At the closing door.
With death at hand,
Being too young to die.
I look to my Lord,
And ask him why.
I’ve been good!
Isn’t this a sin?
Why does evil,
Always seem to win?
Why must my parents,
Suffer this pain?
While evil gains,
A little more fame.
Oh child,
I gave the right of choice,
In your moment,
You raised your voice.
With your faith,
You stood your ground.
Showing all people,
Where I could be found.
By Me
I hope this is what this forum is for. I wrote this after the Colo. school shooting where a young girl was shot for stating she believed in God. I have a couple of poems of that day from a couple different points of view. If this is the correct place and people enjoy it, I'll post others.
Thanks
