    Forever lost

    Forever Lost

    As bullets shattered,
    Our little town.
    My parents looking,
I was nowhere to be found.
    I scream silent words,
    That no one can hear.
    I’m all alone,
    Still feeling my fear.
In the warmth of my blood,
    Upon a cold floor.
    I stare blankly,
    At the closing door.
    With death at hand,
    Being too young to die.
    I look to my Lord,
    And ask him why.
    I’ve been good!
    Isn’t this a sin?
    Why does evil,
    Always seem to win?
    Why must my parents,
    Suffer this pain?
    While evil gains,
    A little more fame.
    Oh child,
I gave the right of choice,
    In your moment,
    You raised your voice.
    With your faith,
    You stood your ground.
    Showing all people,
    Where I could be found.

I hope this is what this forum is for. I wrote this after the Colo. school shooting where a young girl was shot for stating she believed in God. I have a couple of poems of that day from a couple different points of view. If this is the correct place and people enjoy it, I'll post others.

    Thanks

This is really a beautiful one from your real experience. I loved these lines most.

Please share your other poems as well Picture.
    It's really a nice one.

This one may be harder to accept. During the same shooting incident it hit me hard that kids are doing things so far out there and we don't have a clue as to why. So I tried real hard to put myself in the shoes of the shooter and these are the words that came out.

    The Shooter

    So many times,
    I’ve walked these halls.
    Teased and in fear
    From everyone I saw.
    Not good enough for here,
    Bright enough for there.
    The place I belonged,
    Didn’t seem to be anywhere.
    So many times,
I just longed for a hello.
    Too many times,
    With no place to go.
With my tears fading in the past,
    And my heart growing cold.
    Vengeance and revenge,
    Giving me something to behold.
    I write these words,
    In the prelude of today.
    To let the world know,
They have to find a way.
    With my death at hand,
    And my revenge complete.
    I step over bodies,
    Knowing my defeat.
    Pulling the trigger,
    Giving my last sigh.
    Leaving you to answer,
    My question,
    WHY?
Reality is what refuses to go away when I stop believing in it.

Complex problems have simple, easy to understand, wrong answers.

It's hard to convince people you're killing them for their own good."

    Maybe you prefer love poems?

    That Night

    That night,
    you walked into the room.
    My heart was racing,
    is this fate
    or is it doom.

    I had to meet you,
    but what could I say.
    I had to think,
there had to be a way.

    Your warmth and your kindness,
    took me by Surprise,
    but nothing compared,
to the beauty of your eyes.

    Time went by
in the blink of an eye.
    It came and went,
    with just a sweet good-bye.

    But I was fine,
    everything felt right.
    For God had blessed me,
when I met you that night.

The Shooter...I think about these people a lot. It's not to give them an excuse but I always wonder what led them to hurt others. Many of us have been the underdog or victims of some sort of ridicule but we don't kill others.
But to comment on your poem and not its subject, I think you did a very nice job of getting us in to the mind of the perpetrator.
I'm in love with The Vinegar Man and Mr. Tanner, but be careful, it could just as easily be you.

I don't know how good they are, but I enjoy writing. In the small chance you couldn't tell, I have no schooling outside the basics. Writing was not something ever really thought to me. Atleast that I can remember. I don't write often, but when I do it's about something that has touched me. Either love, pain, sadness, confusion, or joy. Many people have told that they're good, but they love me. Family, ya know. So, I thought what the hey. Post some on here and see what feed back you get. Any teachers out there?

    The TV's a blarr'in,
    the news from the east.
    we sending our soldiers,
    to conquer the beast.

    I turn the set off,
    feeling sad and blue.
    life will be lost,
    for this I knew.

    What would I say,
    if given the choice?
    I'd want to be heard,
    to raise my voice.

    I'd say Mr. Hussain,
    Man of Iraq.
    We're on our way.
    you must know that.

    The way you've lived,
    causing fear and Despair.
    You left us the burden,
    that we carry and bare.

    (I need a ending)
