Going to go with Granny's pick also..

Been in West Memphis myself...and could very well believe that one.

    # 3 sounds like you...

So # 2 has to be it....

ok noone knows me on here...being a newby... so it will be interesting to see what people say

#1 I love crime stories, formulaic, tortured lead protagonists, the grittier the better

#2 i read more than $300 worth of magazines a month

#3 I am writing a novel set in morrocco and brainstorming about how to incorporate the novels scenery (the middle east) to be something that my readers would empathise with, rather than judge.

    Good luck!
    Pen, what's the answer???

2 truths and one big lie.

Well, Granny Sandy, BlueSky, and Pixie all know me too well!

1.) I once spent an evening chatting with gang members in West Memphis, Arkansas, all of whom were wearing full "blood" colors and probably armed. I had on a suit and tie, and we spent an hour peacefully talking. Certainly true. On my way hope from a preaching trip. Stopped for gas and ended up chatting with a carload of black gang members. I wasn't threatening their turf nor disrespecting them, so we talked for a good while, they all whished me good luck on the long drive home and we parted ways. Treat people like you want to be treated and they will have more respect for you. Don't act like they are low-lifes, or sterotype them.

2.) Despite my many collections of Ghost Stories, I am firmly convinced that ghosts are figiments of imagination only and do not exist in any form. Never saw one, never will. Oh, yeah, False. I live within walking distance of one of the most famous haunted places in this area. The Old Stone Inn, just off I-81 at exit 50. Have I seen ghosts? I've seen things I can't explain. Ghosts or not, as Granny says, I'm Southern.

3.) Despite the fact that red is a color that is bad for my eyes and even can set off tension, it is my favorite color. My truck would be red, but I buy used vehicles, and they didn't have a red one. My daughter's Escort (used to be our car) is red, has almost 200,000 miles and doing fine! This is all true, the bit about red being bad for me, but it is my favorite color.

    Congrads!

    Hey Pen:
Just somehow knew that the Memphis one was true...
I used to live in an area that was considered the bad part of town...
Gang area....but our small little block was a safe zone....
the gang leader's grandmother lived next door to us...it was amazing how if you walked one block over there was a turf war, but as long as you were on our block it was as safe as could be....
and yes many interesting conversations took place during the time I lived there.

    back on topic...
    grittylit....going to take a guess here...$300 a month...hmmmm
sounds steep....so this one is my guess.

We lived in Memphis from 74 till 80 or 81...my hubby worked in radio there at WMPS. Ever listen to Rick Dees or Ron Jordon when they were there? It was the #1 station most of the time. Shared #1 with WHBQ.
