Hello, I plan to start reading this tomorrow. I've read 1984 and Animal Farm and I love both books. So, has anyone read 'Essays'? Is it worth reading? Would a fan (who has only read 1984 and Animal Farm) of Orwell like it?

I own a copy and think it's well worth reading.
I think it would probably appeal more to someone who enjoys his social / journalistic works such as 'The Road to Wigan Pier' and 'Down and Out in Paris and London' rather than his fiction. It's a mixed bag from comments on the Second World War to book reviews. However, Orwell's prose is brilliant and always worth reading.
