    1984 - Theme of dystopia

    I have been given an essay to write for school and im not sure how to start it so if someone could either help me start it or has an essay on the topic below then please e-mail me :

    The Theme of dystopia as it is developed through setting and charcter,

    also if some one could send me a planning sheet i would be very appreciative,

    Scott you might want to start with a consideration of what constitutes a dystopian work, and then examine 1984 along those lines. Namely, the author constructs Winston's life in detail: work, former marriage, childhood, "love" affair with Julie, fear, individuality, etc. I'm just thinking off the cuff here but it seems that Orwell builds Winston's existence to show what a hell this dystopia is; gives false hope of escape; forces him to betray everything he believes in; and ultimately destroys him.

    To say any more would be to do your work for you.
