Fred Mertz: What's your excuse at sea level?

Fred Mertz: Now what are we supposed to do? Thumb a ride on a passing halibut?
Ricky Ricardo: I can't afford it.
Lucy Ricardo: Those must have been the first English words you learned.

Welcome to the forum Scarlet. A lot of people have poems worth checking out. Littlewing53 comes to mind. I write poems, too...I wrote a ton for a period of 6 months or so, and now I only write occasionally. They aren't good, I know that, I mean of like 400 maybe 20-40 are pretty good...maybe that's too critical, I dunno...but I never felt like stopping or slowing down, you know? I mean they all have a little value. And I was rewarded in that I understood poetry written and heard a whole lot better by writing. So, have a good time here and see you.

I always wanted to write better poems, and I had them in my mind somehow but I still haven't gotten them fully unlocked. I've had a lot of fun trying, though. Anyway I'm sure you will make a lot of progress in it as you go. That is all I had to say... >

2 things. First, welcome to Scarlet Pain! You'll find lots of good poems here.

Second, everybody say hello to BulletproofDork, my sister!
"The time has come," the Walrus said,
    "To talk of many things:
    Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
    Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
    And whether pigs have wings."

    Cool newby

Hi, I'm amari. I'm new to these forums.
I love reading and I write poetry and short stories. I need people who will critique my work, because I plan on publishing sometime soon. I am also an aspiring actress.
My favorite books are Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell, The Inferno by Dante Alligheri, Roots by Alex Haley, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares. There are many more, but that would take pages upon pages to read. So, I exist.
I am wind, frantic to find a quiet place to hide, alone I cry. No man may know me, no arms may hold me. Eternally Alone.

I like Ann Brashares' books, too; and I'd love to critique your work.

    Hello

When I read your intro I immediately related to you. I have many thoughts and words just jumbling around in my mind but I'm not very good at making it look pretty on paper. I just write but not in any specific format. I still posted something though. It's not as great as some of the other folks on this page but I posted anyways. Talk to you later!

Hello there everyone! I just saw this thread and decided to say hi to you all. *shakes everyone's hands one by one* I love writing stories since I was a little kid and I also love reading so much. I got interested in reading in a few years after I wrote my first stories. It's kinda weird that I liked writing first than reading. *laughs*
